Garden & Community
Get to know Tamera through practical work and acquire basic knowledge in organic food, herbs and seeds. We invite you to work with our gardeners, farmers and stewards of the Earth, supporting its healing by cooperating with the beings of nature. You’ll learn about community building, experience a variety of organic agriculture techniques and gain insights into our path toward regional autonomy.
We invite you into this abundance, to join us in taking care of the land, reconnecting with nature and experiencing lived community. Throughout this program we’ll regularly meet in our group to learn about other aspects of Tamera’s community and philosophy and widen our view on the social and political scope of land stewardship.
“Our food, herb and seed gardens, and reforestation project are elements of our strategy to promote regional food autonomy for a peaceful culture. As we grow our food, we don’t exploit, but enhance the soil’s vitality. Our vision is that biotopes of abundance will arise all over the world, nourishing the biosphere and all of humankind.”
Tamera’s ecology team
You’ll arrive on Saturday, have your first encounter with the Tamera community on Sunday morning at the matinee and start your work with the land on Monday.
The mornings will be dedicated to practical work in four areas: our seed garden, fruit trees, herb garden and vegetable garden. You’ll rotate through all of these areas in the course of your two-week stay, so you’ll get an encompassing first insight into what we’re doing here. In the afternoons you’ll meet as a whole group and will be guided by members of the community into the basic thoughts of Tamera and different aspects of our project. There’ll also be space for you to share your experiences and get to know each other on a deeper level.
Saturday afternoon and all of Sunday will be free for outings, socializing or simply resting and integrating. On Saturday afternoon there will be an opportunity to take a guided tour of Tamera, and every Sunday morning you are invited to join the community at our matinee.
