Open Afternoon
Get a first glimpse of Tamera, an emerging model for the future. On most Saturday afternoons between April and November, we invite you to get a firsthand view of our place and project – on a donation basis.
Program Details
After an introduction to some of our foundational ideas, a team of Tamera co-workers will take you on a tour through our center. You'll see our Water Retention Landscape and permaculture gardens, our Solar Test Field and our central auditorium as well as several other important locations. We'll end with a Q&A session at our Cultural Center, where you'll have a chance to visit our bookshop and café.
We'll explore questions such as:
- What does peace research mean?
- How do we create a model for the future?
- Why do we live in community?
- How do we treat water?
- How do we produce decentralized clean energy?
- How can you support the ideas of Tamera?
Stay Overnight
You're invited to extend your stay until Sunday afternoon. Often, we have evening events on Saturday (or at least an open bar). On Sunday, you can attend our traditional “Matinee” at 10am in the Aula, where the community as well as students and guests meet for a celebratory hour of listening to inspirational thoughts and music. Afterwards there's brunch.
If you wish to stay overnight, please make sure to register by Thursday, of the week of your visit, as we need some time to arrange accommodation. You are also invited to drop by and join the tour spontaneously if you do not wish to stay overnight. Even if you have already registered, please confirm whether you are staying or not between 2 and 3 pm at the guest center reception.
