Youth Camp: What we need is system change!

We invite young people aged between 13 and 17, from around the world, to join us for 2 weeks of a full-on community experience at our Children’s Place, accompanied by our team of youth facilitators. Experiencing the fragility of our current capitalist system through Covid-19, financial breakdown and climate disruption, the necessity of building alternative cultures is evident. We find ourselves at a crucial point where we can make a decision for our future. Join us as we look into the world and think about what a meaningful response to our global crisis could be, as we research how to build trust between us, using creative ways to express our ideas, passion and joy about a future we can believe in.

    Program Details

We will work for 2 weeks as a big group of young people, on a deeper understanding of the current capitalist system and – more importantly – on concrete responses to the current crisis. Imagine if we would join forces in trust for life as an alternative to the current narrative, which is bound to fear and destruction!

The youth camp is an intense community time and offers opportunities for sharing, listening and reflecting each other as human beings. We will use Forum, girls and boys rounds and theater work to create trust among us and to find out more about who we are, our highest potential and what is important to us in these times.

We will work creatively, integrating theater, dance, poetry and music, resulting in a final presentation where we’ll show the results of our time together.

We will get to know the work of hugely inspiring and remarkable peace workers from around the world as we continue the cooperation with the gathering of international activists in the “Defend the Sacred Alliance” and particularly with the gathering of the next generation of young activists which will take place for the first time this year!
