Regional Autonomy

We are collaborating with local partners to build a network that models regional autonomy. As a lot of land in Portugal is degraded and many people are leaving the countryside, it’s a perfect place to show how to regenerate ecosystems and communities & reinstall regional networks that have been destroyed by global trade. Our region – the Alentejo – could be a pioneer for regional autonomy and regenerative design as it holds an abundance of rainwater and sunlight and has perfect growing conditions.
