Composting Toilet

At Tamera, we’ve experimented with and further developed various models of compost toilets successfully. In this way, we don’t produce any “black” water but instead create fertile humanure which we use on our fruit trees once it has fully decomposed. For gray water from bathrooms and kitchens, we have constructed wetlands which have become living biotopes inhabited by specific plant species that break up and compost pollutants and in the end, feed clean water back into our aquifer.
