Individual Retreat in Tamera
We invite you to experience Tamera in a different way and use our place as the setting for an individual retreat.
Overview
Tamera as a unique natural place in Southern Portugal, set in a gently rolling landscape away from industry and traffic, offers a sense of peace, clean air and a beautiful night sky in an environment still free from light pollution. Our water retention landscape has a very special atmosphere, and pilgrim paths connect the stone circle (our “nature cathedral”) with various other power places across the land. Our guest center offers nourishing vegan meals, mostly prepared with regional and seasonal ingredients.
This creates a supportive setting for individual regeneration, contemplation, creativity and/or a time to gain inner clarity – whether you are in a period of change, taking a conscious break, or simply longing to feel more silence and vitality again. Tamera offers a protected space for personal processes, rest and inspiration.
Tamera is not a classic retreat center, but a peace education and research community where mindful coexistence and respectful relations between human beings and the Earth are actively cultivated.
You are free to decide how you want to shape your retreat. We are happy to offer guidance and support, and are available for personal conversations during your stay.
You may take part in morning offerings that are open to everyone, such as yoga and morning attunements. You can also do meditative work in the garden or help in the dog sanctuary, depending on request and availability.
If you want to move in silence in public areas, you may wear a sign that we can provide, so everyone present can help protect the contemplative space you wish to cultivate.
You may also take part in events for the whole community, such as our Sunday Matinee, the Ring of Power and Political Cafés, and come to our café or bar when they’re open.
In addition, we can organize massages and health consultations with trained professionals for an extra fee.
There is also the possibility to explore the wider region, including the magnificent beaches of the Alentejo coast, which are about a 40-minute drive from Tamera.
During your stay, accommodation is provided in our comfortable Guest House, which has its own kitchen where you may also prepare your own meals or have tea in silence.
Warm welcome!
