Golden Autumn in Community
We invite you to join us for harvesting olives and other seasonal fruit, to work on the land and to care for Mother Earth in community.
Overview
Autumn is the time of the year when the silver-gray sheen of olive leaves gives our landscape its special charm. It is a good time to be outside and gather in nature’s gifts. In the rhythm of harvesting – gathering what the land offers – many participants experience the quiet satisfaction of contributing to something real, while reconnecting with the simple rhythms of land, community and rewarding work.
We invite you once again to share with us the joyful work of harvesting, caring for the trees and for the land. This is an opportunity to connect with these grounding and nurturing traditions; to gather as a community and enjoy the abundance of Autumn.
Who is the course for?
- People who want to get to know Tamera or to come back and enjoy being with us
- People who are physically capable of working daily in ecological work
- People interested in community-building
- Families who are searching for possibilities to visit Tamera with children
What we will do
- Harvest olives and other seasonal fruits such as quince
- Work in the land according to the season
- Explore the importance of land and water restoration, both locally and as a global political issue
- Gather in group sessions to listen, reflect, and strengthen our connections through creative and interactive formats
Schedule & Flexibility
Please come prepared for variable weather. It may be warm and dry, or cold and wet. In our part of the world, October marks the start of the rainy season.
As most program activities take place outdoors on Tamera’s land, our schedule will adapt to the weather. Mornings and early afternoons will be dedicated to harvesting and working on the land, while community-building sessions will follow later in the day. We’ll adjust the rhythm as needed to make the most of the sunshine – or to find shelter during rain.
We will do our best to include the children in the program whenever possible. When this isn’t feasible, we won’t provide formal childcare, but we will try our best to support parents in finding shared, creative solutions together.
Gift Experiment
This event breaks away from traditional pricing models. Instead of a fixed price, it’s part of our gift-economy experiments during the 2025 guest season. Rather than setting a price, we invite you to offer a genuine contribution based on your experience in Tamera.
All we ask is that you cover your room & board upfront, ensuring we meet our essential expenses. Toward the end of this seminar, you’ll be invited to assess your experience and decide on a financial contribution that reflects both your financial capacity and the value you’ve found in this event.
This experiment is our next step toward a more relational, trust-based economic paradigm, and we’re looking forward to having you join us in this experiment!
