Summer Harvest Gathering
for Parents and Children
A seven-day summer gathering for families and individuals to take part in our fruit harvest, preserve food together and experience community life in Tamera.
Overview
This week offers a simple, hands-on experience of community life: preparing and sharing meals together, working side by side and spending time outdoors with people of different ages and backgrounds.
We will camp in a simple tent area on a meadow, close to a swimming pond, with other families and community members.
Throughout the week, we will pick apples, pears and other seasonal fruit along the shores of the lakes in Tamera’s water retention landscape and transform the harvest: pressing fresh juice, preparing fruit for solar drying and making preserves.
Much of the work will take place in and around our off-grid solar kitchen, where we can share knowledge, talk and learn from each other as we take part in the seasonal cycle and prepare local food.
The week is an invitation to slow down, join the harvest and experience how food, land and community can come together in daily life.
We look forward to welcoming you and your family and celebrating the season together.
Who is this gathering for?
This harvest gathering is especially for:
- Individuals and families who are curious about community, land stewardship, regenerative culture and cooperative ways of living
- Parents looking for ways to take part in a shared community setting together with their children
- People who are curious about Tamera’s way of life

Children are at the heart of this gathering. They will have opportunities to join in the harvest, explore the landscape and take part in a culture where work, play, learning and community are part of daily life. We aim to create an environment where children and adults can feel at home and participate according to their age, capacity and interest.
No previous experience with harvesting or food preservation is required.

Courses may focus on specific topics, but they take place within this wider context, so participants often encounter other aspects of Tamera during their stay.
As a participant, you can join our morning offers, which include Yoga and other possible activities. You’ll also be able to take part in events for the whole community like our Sunday Matinee, the Ring of Power and Political Cafés.
Please read Tamera’s Visitor Guidelines and Policies
Before enrolling, we ask all participants to carefully read Tamera’s Visitor Guidelines and Policies, which outline our ethical principles, our position on Palestine, and how these shape our work, our learning spaces, and our expectations of visitors. This is an essential part of preparing for your time at Tamera.
