Horse Course

In this 4-day seminar we, as a group, will create an intimate connection with the horses and among each other. Our horses will teach us to be truthful and trusting in our ways of acting, communicating and learning. They are free to live in a herd, according to their authentic nature and so can encounter us without fear. You will have opportunities to face your fears, discover your qualities and learn principles of authentic connection and community – all with the gift of a non-judgmental mirror.

Program Details

By observing and interacting with the horses you’ll gain knowledge about being in positive authority and how to follow principles of natural leadership. We will practice this through exercises in leading a horse, working in the round pen and in longer walks and excursions.

You’ll have the chance to work intensively with one horse on all the processes that arise through these experiences. The horse’s non-judgmental accompaniment offers us the safety to research authentic connection with another being, learn trust, receive truthful feedback, overcome old patterns of interaction and consciously choose new ways.

We will create spaces in which students can share and reflect on what you experience. You will also learn about natural horse husbandry and the dynamics within a herd.

The Team

You will be guided by a small team of facilitators with long term experience in working with horses, co-led by Freya von Munzert.
