Eike Braunroth left his body
On April 14, 2025, Eike Braunroth transitioned to another dimension. A great animal lover, psychologist, and researcher, he dedicated his life to advocating for peaceful coexistence between humans and so-called “pests,” such as snails—whom he fondly referred to as his “cooperation partners.” In loving memory, we honor a long-time friend of Tamera, cherished for his courage, empathy, and visionary perspective on the interconnectedness of human and non-human life.

Eike’s vision and practice of cooperation with nature inspired many, including Jürgen Paulick in creating Tamera’s Peace Garden and Heike Kessler in her work with our wild boar friends and in Terra Deva—both of whom were his students. We remain in awe of his radical commitment to a world built on trust and cooperation, and we are deeply grateful for the tools he shared with us. His wisdom often opened our eyes, helping us navigate challenging situations between humans and animals. In recent years, his appearances via Zoom in our “Cooperation with Animals” course left a profound impression on all who attended.
*”Have You Kissed a Snail Yet Today?”* is the title of his book, the title of this article summarizing his work, and of the children’s theater piece we created honoring his work.
Thank you, Eike, for your radical devotion to cooperation with creatures many see as enemies. May your journey into the next dimension be guided with love, and may our collaboration continue beyond this realm.
